At Lake Granbury Medical Center we care for you beyond the birth of your baby. We are committed to helping you meet your goals with feeding your infant. Our experienced international board-certified lactation consultants offer quality care for everything from prenatal education to weaning.
Our services include:

- Consults 3-5 days after delivery

- Lactation Line is available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. For immediate concerns contact labor and delivery"

Our complimentary breastfeeding class is led by a board-certified lactation consultant. It provides:
- Importance of breastfeeding for mom and baby
- Breastfeeding in the first hours after birth
- Thermoregulation and skin-to-skin
- Colostrum
- Breastfeeding in the early days of life
- Rooming in with baby
- Feeding cues
- Breastfeeding positioning
- Transition from colostrum to mature milk
- How breastfeeding works
- How suckling stimulations milk production
- Newborn nutrition requirements
- Breastfeeding in the early weeks and months
- Gaining confidence in breastfeeding
- Baby’s growing needs
- Milk expression
This class is for pregnant women and their support person who are interested in learning more about breastfeeding. It meets the second Saturday of every month from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., after the BIRTH Day Orientation. The class is held at Lake Granbury Medical Center's Medical Office Building 2, 1310B Paluxy Road, in the second floor conference room.

Mother's Circle
Mother's Circle is a support group for breastfeeding mothers. It offers helpful approaches to breastfeeding from other breastfeeding moms as well as our board-certified lactation consultants.
Mother's Circle meets the first Monday of every month from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. and is held at Lake Granbury Medical Center’s Medical Office Building 2, 1310B Paluxy Road, in the second floor conference room.

- Breastfeeding in public
- Starting solids
- Postpartum depression
- Pumping and returning to work
- Fluctuations in milk supply
