Minimally Invasive Procedure Now Available in Granbury for Men with Enlarged Prostat

Lakeside Physicians is pleased to announce that W. Bruce Harrell, MD, board-certified urologist, is now offering a minimally invasive treatment option for men experiencing urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
This outpatient procedure is designed to relieve symptoms such as frequent urination, weak urine flow, and the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying — all without the need for ongoing medications or traditional surgery.
“Many men assume urinary issues are just part of getting older,” said Dr. Harrell. “But there are safe, effective options available that can significantly improve quality of life — and often with a much faster recovery time than people expect.”
Performed in the outpatient surgical setting, the procedure works by gently opening the blocked portion of the urethra without cutting or removing tissue. Most patients return to normal activities within a few days and experience lasting relief of their symptoms.
“This is a great option for men who want to avoid long-term medications or who are concerned about preserving sexual function,” Dr. Harrell added. “It’s simple, effective, and it’s making a real difference for patients.”
Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a common condition affecting nearly half of men over age 50. If left untreated, it can lead to more serious urinary complications.
